OUR CAUSE

What Does Your Donation Support?

The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories is working to change the face of dementia in Alberta and the Northwest Territories and improve the quality of life for those living with the disease. The Society offers provincial and territorial networks of educational and support services for people living with dementia and their care partners through seven regional centres and a provincial office. We build partnerships with health professionals and the community and work to advance research to find effective treatments and a cure for this devastating disease.

Currently, there are over 62,000 Albertans and Northwest Territorians living with dementia. There is currently no known cause or cure for Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, but there is hope for creating a better tomorrow.

The Alzheimer’s Pro-Am Hockey Tournament focuses on raising funds that enable the Society to provide help for today through free education programs and support services for individuals who have being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias, as well as their family members and care partners; and hope for tomorrow through innovative research initiatives happening right here in Alberta.
